Kawasaki has updated the Vulcan S for 2027 with a new colour, a slight increase in torque, and smaller disc brakes at both ends. The motorcycle is now priced at Rs 8.23 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs 10,000 more than the 2026 model.

As part of the model year update, the 649cc, parallel-twin engine now produces 62.4Nm of torque, up by 1.4Nm over the 2026 model. This brings the torque output back to the figure seen on the 2024 Vulcan S. That said, power remains unchanged at 61bhp, with no changes to the engine’s power or torque delivery rpm. The rest of the mechanical package has been carried forward.

Another change on the 2027 Vulcan S is that Kawasaki has reduced the size of both brake rotors. The front now gets a 272mm disc, down from 300mm on the 2026 model, while the rear disc has been reduced from 250mm to 216mm. Although it continues to feature dual-channel ABS
The suspension setup remains unchanged, with a 41mm telescopic fork offering 130mm of travel and a linkage-type rear monoshock with 80mm of travel and adjustable preload. The bike continues to have a low seat height of 705mm, while ground clearance stands at 130mm. Meanwhile, its kerb weight remains unchanged at 235kg.

The 2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S is available in a new Metallic Carbon Gray colour with a subtle bluish-green tint. It replaces the Metallic Flat Spark Black colour offered on the 2026 model. The feature list also remains unchanged, including the analogue-digital instrument cluster and dual-channel ABS.
The Vulcan S continues to have no direct rival in India. The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is its closest alternative, although it is considerably more affordable at Rs 4.05 lakh (ex-showroom).
