2026 Hero Xtreme 250R Carbon

New Xtreme 250R Carbon adds a bi-directional quickshifter, four riding modes, traction control and tyre pressure monitoring, alongside a new TFT display.

Along with the new Xtreme 160R 4V, Hero MotoCorp has also launched the 2026 Xtreme 250R Carbon at Rs 1.98 lakh, ex-showroom. The larger Xtreme streetfighter receives a substantial equipment upgrade, with a focus on rider assistance, connectivity and everyday convenience.

First launched at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January 2025, the Xtreme 250R brought Hero’s new 250cc liquid-cooled engine to the market. The latest Carbon version builds on that foundation with features including ride-by-wire, cruise control, a bi-directional quickshifter and a rear monoshock with frequency selective damping.

TFT Display, TPMS And Cruise Control

One of the main additions is a 10.7 cm, approximately 4.2-inch, multi-colour TFT instrument display. Hero lists more than 60 features, including turn-by-turn navigation and connectivity. While navigation was available on the earlier motorcycle, the TFT brings a new display interface to the updated model.

A real-time tyre pressure monitoring system is also part of the equipment package. This allows riders to keep track of tyre pressures, with Hero’s launch material highlighting use for both solo and pillion riding.

Cruise control adds convenience for longer journeys by maintaining a selected speed without continuous throttle input. Together, these features expand the Xtreme 250R’s appeal beyond its acceleration and sporty styling.

Four Riding Modes And Traction Control

The updated Xtreme 250R gets ride-by-wire with four riding modes—Rain, Road, Sport and Track. Traction control is also included, with Hero specifying four calibrations linked to the riding modes.

Another significant addition is the bi-directional quickshifter, allowing clutchless upshifts and downshifts. It works with a six-speed gearbox, while the specification sheet also lists a wet-type assist and slipper clutch. These additions form a major part of the 2026 update, bringing more electronic control and riding flexibility to Hero’s 250cc streetfighter.

30 PS Engine, 0–100 Km/h In 8.5 Seconds

The Xtreme 250R Carbon uses a 250cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 30 PS at 9,250 rpm and 25.3 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The specification sheet lists a 73 mm bore, 59.5 mm stroke and a 12:1 compression ratio.

Hero claims a 0–60 km/h acceleration time of 3.2 seconds and a 0–100 km/h time of 8.5 seconds. The company promotes it as the fastest motorcycle in the 250cc category, with these performance figures remaining manufacturer claims. Kerb weight is listed at 168 kg, while fuel tank capacity stands at 11.5 litres.

Rear Suspension With Frequency Selective Damping

The chassis uses a trellis frame with USD front forks. At the rear, the updated motorcycle features a monoshock with frequency selective damping, which Hero says is designed to balance comfort and control across different surfaces. The company describes this as a first-in-class feature.

Braking is handled by a 320 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc, supported by switchable dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels with a 110/70 front tyre and a 150/60 rear tyre, both tubeless. Seat height stands at 806 mm, ground clearance at 167 mm and wheelbase at 1,357 mm. Overall dimensions are 2,023 mm in length, 828 mm in width and 1,062 mm in height.

Carbon Colours And LED Lighting

The updated motorcycle retains the Xtreme 250R’s muscular tank, angular extensions, split-seat layout and upswept exhaust. The launch material lists three colour options—Carbon Red, Carbon Black and Carbon White.

Lighting equipment includes a Class-D LED projector headlamp with LED DRLs, a signature H-shaped LED tail lamp and LED indicators with a hazard-light switch. Gold-finished USD forks and contrasting engine covers continue to feature prominently in its styling.

With the latest update, Hero has expanded the Xtreme 250R’s equipment package considerably. The TFT, quickshifter, cruise control, traction control and revised rear suspension give buyers more reasons to consider the motorcycle beyond its 30 PS engine.
