Maruti Suzuki has launched the mid-lifecycle update for the Baleno, priced from Rs 6.10 lakh, ex-showroom. With this year’s facelift, the premium hatchback gets a couple of design tweaks, additional interior and safety features, and a new petrol engine. Speaking of the engine, it’s a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated motor, which also does duty in the Swift and Dzire.

New feature introduced with this year’s update are a wireless charger with cooling, branded Clarion sound system and ventilated front seats, the latter of which is a segment-first feature.

The new Baleno gets a Level 2 ADAS suite, something that none of its rivals offer. Part of the safety suite are adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, emergency braking, high-beam assist and more. Some other safety features include six airbags across trims, ABS with EBS, a tyre-pressure monitoring system and hill-hold assist.
