Available in 4×2 manual and automatic variants, the updated Leader Edition retains its familiar exterior styling while adding ambient lighting. Bookings open on October 12.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition in India, priced at Rs 36.51 lakh for the 4×2 manual and Rs 38.72 lakh for the 4×2 automatic. Both prices are ex-showroom. Customers can book the SUV from October 12, 2026, through Toyota’s official website or their nearest dealership.
The latest edition follows the India-specific Leader Edition launched in 2024 and refreshed in 2025. For 2026, ambient lighting is the main new cabin feature highlighted by Toyota, while much of the existing styling and equipment package continues.
2026 Fortuner Leader Edition
Exterior highlights listed in the announcement include a signature front grille, black rear door garnish, gloss-black alloy wheels with matching hub caps, black roof treatment and a black-finished antenna. Body-side mouldings and the hood emblem complete the package.
2026 Fortuner Leader Edition retains the familiar appearance of last year’s version. Toyota’s latest promotional image shows no obvious changes to the grille pattern, headlights, front bumper extensions, silver accents, bonnet lettering or alloy-wheel design compared with the 2025 image below.
Toyota is offering three colours: Super White, Platinum White Pearl and Attitude Black. Silver, which featured in the 2025 announcement, is absent from the latest colour list.
Ambient Lighting Added To Black-Maroon Cabin
Inside, the Leader Edition continues with dual-tone black and maroon seat upholstery and matching door trims. Ambient lighting adds to this cabin treatment, alongside illuminated scuff plates.
Convenience features include auto-folding outside rear-view mirrors and a tyre pressure monitoring system. The upholstery combination, illuminated scuff plates, auto-folding mirrors and TPMS were also mentioned in last year’s edition.
Commenting on the introduction, Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said the updated edition responds to customers seeking a more distinctive appearance and additional convenience features while retaining the Fortuner’s established attributes.
Toyota says cumulative Fortuner sales have crossed 3.3 lakh units. While the broader Fortuner range includes four-wheel-drive versions, the Leader Edition announced here is limited to 4×2 manual and automatic configurations.
Warranty, Roadside Assistance And Finance Options
The ownership package includes five years of complimentary roadside assistance and a standard three-year/1,00,000 km warranty. Customers can extend warranty coverage up to five years/2,20,000 km and choose the Toyota Smiles Plus service programme.
Finance options include funding plans of up to seven years and Toyota Smart Balloon Finance, along with pre-approved options for value-added services such as extended warranty and Toyota Genuine Accessories.
With bookings opening on October 12, the 2026 Leader Edition offers buyers another Fortuner configuration centred on exterior detailing and an enhanced cabin ambience. Next gen Fortuner has been spotted testing in Thailand. India launch is expected next year.
