2027 Toyota Fortuner Spied

The latest spy shot offers a clearer look at the upcoming Fortuner’s front fascia and side profile, following last month’s rear spy shots.

The upcoming Toyota Fortuner has been spied testing again in Thailand, this time on a highway. While the SUV remains extensively camouflaged, the latest spy shot provides a front three-quarter view, revealing more of its grille, lighting arrangement and overall proportions.

This follows the September sighting that showed partially exposed rear lamps appearing closer to production specification. The new photograph also shows the same TC 3784 registration seen on that test vehicle, suggesting it is the same prototype photographed from a different angle.

New Fortuner Front Design Takes Shape

The most noticeable feature is the upright front fascia. A broad central grille with a mesh pattern is visible through an opening in the camouflage, flanked by substantial vertical sections. Above it, the upper grille and headlamp area form a relatively horizontal arrangement beneath the bonnet.

The exposed lighting sections appear angular, although the camouflage and image resolution make it difficult to establish the complete headlamp and DRL signatures. Lower down, openings in the bumper reveal horizontal elements around the number plate area.

Side Profile Reveals Familiar SUV Proportions

The latest image also offers a better view of the SUV’s side. A tall bonnet, upright cabin and substantial ground clearance preserve the Fortuner’s familiar proportions. Pronounced wheel arches, side steps and multi-spoke alloy wheels are visible, while camouflage covers the doors, mirrors and rear quarter panels.

The rear side window and rising lower window line can also be seen, but the covering continues to obscure the finer treatment around the rear pillars. Dark glass prevents a useful look inside the cabin.

Cabin And Technology Updates Expected

As discussed in our earlier coverage, the latest Hilux offers a reference point for the direction Toyota could take with the Fortuner. A more modern dashboard, larger infotainment display, digital instrumentation and additional connectivity features remain among the anticipated changes.

The 2.8-litre diesel remains a likely powertrain option for the upcoming Fortuner in India. ADAS module can be seen in the front. Panoramic sunroof is also expected.

India Launch Expected In 2027

Toyota has already launched the new Hilux in India. Next gen Fortuner is based on the same platform, and will get similar styling. Launch is expected in 2027. Ahead of that Toyota will launch the updated Innova Hycross sometime in Dec this year.
