Japanese two-wheeler maker Honda has partnered with BB Racing as the title sponsor for the third season of the Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL). The team will compete as Honda BB Racing in the upcoming season.
The partnership formalises Honda’s association with BB Racing, which has competed with Honda motorcycles since the inaugural ISRL season. The team will continue to use the Honda CRF450R and CRF250R motocross bikes for Season 3.
BB Racing has been one of the prominent teams in the first two ISRL seasons, with French rider Jordi Tixier securing the All-Stars category victory during his stint with the team. The Honda BB Racing team will carry the Japanese bike maker’s red racing identity in ISRL Season 3. The team is backed by Panchshil Realty and owned by Atul Chordia.
The partnership comes after Honda outlined a greater focus on off-road motorsport earlier this year. According to Honda, the partnership is aimed at strengthening its involvement in Indian Supercross and bringing its global off-road racing programme closer to Indian riders and motorsport enthusiasts.
