  • 2027 Streetfighter V4 SP certified by CARB
  • Could get the same track-focused bits as the previous SP2
  • Official unveil expected to take place in November

The sportier SP variant of the 2027 Ducati Streetfighter V4 might soon make an appearance, as the motorcycle was recently certified by the California Air Resources Board. The leaked certification document shows that the engine performance and emissions data remain the same as the standard version of the bike. However, a quick look at the details of the older model’s SP trim gives away the updates expected on the upcoming iteration.

The previous SP, which debuted in 2022, came equipped with a dry clutch while the standard model’s aluminium wheels were swapped with carbon fibre units. It was more apt for the racetrack, with its suspension tuning being identical to that of the Panigale. Other performance-focused add-ons included a brushed aluminium fuel tank, machined aluminium rearsets, Brembo Stylema R calipers, a Brembo MCS 19/21 front brake master cylinder, and a lithium-ion battery.

A year later, the SP2 variant of the Streetfighter V4 was introduced in 2023 with a ‘Winter Look.’ Although the motorcycle continued to be on sale till 2025, it did not receive the same updates as the latest generation SF V4 standard. The tweaks included a revised engine, stiffer frame, double-sided swingarm, and electronic updates. The SP2 was then taken off the shelves this year. The upcoming SP variant of the bike should get all the updates from the latest-gen standard SF V4 along with additional performance-oriented bits like lighter wheels and sportier suspension tuning.

The 2027 Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP will certainly be unveiled in November this year during the Ducati World Premiere.
