- Tamarit’s Scrambler 400 XC secured 33% of public votes
- Beats custom Scrambler 900 and 1200 builds to win overall
Triumph Scrambler 400 XC emerges as the winner of Triumph Originals 2026. Spain’s Tamarit Motorcycles started with Triumph’s smallest Scrambler platform and beat six builds based on the Scrambler 900 and Scrambler 1200 families. For an everyday single, this is a rather convincing demonstration of just how adaptable the 400 XC can be.

2026 Triumph Originals competition brought together teams from Canada, China, France, Italy, Spain, the UK and the US. This year’s theme ‘Time Capsule’ asked each builder to pick an era from the Scrambler’s history and reinterpret it through a one-off motorcycle. The final result was decided through a combination of thousands of public votes and scores from an international judging panel looking at originality and technical execution.

Tamarit’s motorcycle secured 33 percent of the public vote and also received the highest combined score from the judges. The base motorcycle was the Scrambler 400 XC with Quique Berna leading the project from Tamarit’s workshop in Alicante, Spain.
Tamarit pushed the XC towards the character of an old-school desert racer. The white bodywork, red competition number and Spanish detailing bolstered the visual theme. The finished motorcycle is lighter, sharper and more purposeful than the standard machine. Its proportions and Triumph identity survived the extensive transformation as well.

There was also stiff competition. Canada and France both used the Scrambler 1200 XE, the US chose a Scrambler 1200 X, while China and the UK worked with the Scrambler 900. Yet the relatively modest 400 XC came out on top as the winner.
