  • Priced at Rs. 2.42 lakh, ex-showroom
  • Likely to be a limited-period price drop
  • Mechanical details remain unchanged

With the arrival of the festive season, Triumph seems to be striving to make the most of it by reducing prices of some of its motorcycles. One of them is the Tracker 400. After the motorcycle received a Rs. 3,000 hike over its introductory price in July, the motorcycle has now become Rs. 7,000 more affordable. The Tracker will retail for Rs. 2.42 lakh, ex-showroom. We believe this is a limited-period price, mainly to rake in more buyers during the festive season, and the price might go up later.

The price increment hasn’t brought along any mechanical changes to the bike. It is powered by a 349cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine paired with a six-speed gearbox. The engine makes 39.5bhp and 32Nm of peak torque. The list of available features and technology includes switchable traction control, dual-channel ABS, and an analogue-digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity.

The Tracker 400 is positioned as a modern-retro urban motorcycle with a flat-tracker-like styling. It features the same suspension setup and wheel travel as the Thruxton 400, but gets dual-purpose tyres. It features a fairly sporty riding posture, courtesy of the rear-set footpegs and a lower handlebar, although the ergonomics aren’t as committed as those of the Thruxton. With the lowered price, the Tracker 400 now offers better value for money and remains an attractive option in the sub-500cc segment.
