The Triumph Trident 800 appears to have arrived in India, with select dealerships confirming limited stock of the motorcycle. While Triumph Motorcycles India is yet to officially announce its launch or list the model on its India website, the bike is priced at Rs 10.95 lakh (ex-showroom).

The other two colour options, Ash Grey and Carnival Red, are priced at Rs 11.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Unveiled globally in October last year, the Trident 800 sits above the Trident 660 in Triumph’s naked motorcycle lineup. It is powered by the 798cc, inline-three-cylinder engine shared with the Tiger Sport 800, producing 115bhp at 10,750rpm and 84Nm at 8,500rpm.

The motorcycle uses a steel perimeter frame, suspended by Showa 41mm SFF-BP USD forks up front and a rear monoshock. Meanwhile, its electronics package includes six-axis IMU-based cornering ABS and cornering traction control. It also gets three riding modes — Road, Sport and Rain — along with cruise control and Bluetooth connectivity. It also gets a 3.5-inch TFT instrument console.

At Rs 10.95 lakh, the Trident 800 is around Rs 10,000 more expensive than the Street Triple R in India. While the two motorcycles have comparable performance figures on paper, the Trident 800 weighs 9kg more. The Trident 800 uses a steel perimeter frame, compared to an aluminium twin-spar frame on the Street Triple R. The latter also gets fully adjustable suspension and a larger 5-inch TFT display.

Interested buyers should check with their nearest Triumph dealership for pricing and availability, given the limited stock of the Trident 800.
