Ultraviolette Automotive has confirmed that its upcoming Shockwave electric enduro motorcycle will be launched in India in the first quarter of 2027. The motorcycle will be based on the company’s new 100V electrical architecture, which will also be adopted for the upcoming Ultraviolette Tesseract.

The company says the new architecture is aimed at improving power delivery, thermal efficiency and charging performance. Ultraviolette has also started preparing the production line for the Shockwave at its existing manufacturing facility.

The Ultraviolette Shockwave will be offered in both single- and dual-seat configurations. Ultraviolette has positioned the Shockwave as a lightweight electric motorcycle, inspired by the fun character of two-stroke motorcycles.

In terms of specifications, the Shockwave gets a 14.5bhp electric motor with a claimed peak torque output of 505Nm. It is powered by a 4kWh battery pack, with an IDC range of 165km. Ultraviolette claims a 0-60kmph acceleration time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 120kmph. Whether these specifications will be offered on the production-spec model remains to be seen.

Feature-wise, the motorcycle will come equipped with switchable dual-channel ABS, four traction control modes, and six levels of regenerative braking. It will also feature LED lighting, while the chassis comprises a steel frame with telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. The Shockwave will ride on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels with dual-purpose tyres.
