The Aprilia Tuareg 660 is the brand’s renowned middleweight adventure motorcycle in its global lineup. It is driven by a derivative of Aprilia’s 659cc parallel-twin engine, which shared with its supersport sibling, the RS660. This engine is specifically re-tuned to enhance low-and-mid range tractability. The liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine produces 80hp at 9,250rpm and 70Nm of torque at 6,500rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. For the Tuareg Rally, the powertrain gains larger 52mm throttle bodies and a dedicated SC-project titanium exhaust system, shedding weight down to 199kg.
The Standard Tuareg 660 comes standard with fully adjustable 43mm KYB USD front fork and a rear monoshock, both offering a 240mm of wheel travel. On the other hand, the Rally variant upgrades to race-tuned linear-rate spring, and 880mm saddle, and heavy-duty Ergal spoked wheels fitted with tube-type off-road tyres, compared to the tubeless 21-inch front and 18-inch rear cross-spoked set on the standard bike.
Both models feature the APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) suite with ride-by-wire throttle, offering four riding modes:Urban, Explore, off-road and Individual. Traction control and multi-map ABS can be completely deactivated for aggressive off-road excursions. Delivering readouts for the electronics is a 5-inch color TFT display. In India, the standard Aprilia Tuareg 660 was listed at an ex-showroom price of Rs 20.15 lakh, with the Rally variant expected to carry a further premium.
