  • Headfox Tarmac at Rs. 6,999, with a limited pre-booking discount
  • Built-in Bluetooth, navigation; DOT and ISI certification

Headfox Tarmac has been launched in India its latest Bluetooth-equipped full-face helmet priced at Rs. 6,999. The new model combines helmet protection with smartphone connectivity for calls, music and navigation placing it into a small but increasingly competitive smart-helmet category. Headfox’s own online store currently mentions the Tarmac at Rs. 6,999, while a limited pre-booking offer provides another Rs. 500 discount. That effectively brings the purchase price to Rs. 6,499 during the promotional period, although Rs. 6,999 remains the regular listed selling price.

The company says the helmet has been designed around four broad areas: protection, connectivity, navigation and everyday comfort. Bluetooth integration allows a smartphone to remain in the rider’s pocket while calls, music and audio navigation instructions are handled through the helmet.

Tarmac gets a signature LED beacon with four lighting modes, multiple audio-output settings and a built-in subwoofer. Headfox also talks about adaptive padding that gradually conforms to the rider’s face with regular use.

The helmet carries both DOT and ISI certification. It is offered in Medium, Large and XL sizes and the electronic components receive a one-year warranty. Not dedicating an Small size is questionable. Headfox says the warranty covers Bluetooth and other electronic parts but excludes physical damage.

Indian market for integrated Bluetooth helmets now broadly stretches from under Rs. 4,000 to nearly Rs. 8,000 among the models. Studds and Vega occupy the lower end, Steelbird has several products around the Rs. 4,000 mark, Ather’s Halo sits at Rs. 4,999, Headfox asks Rs. 6,999 and Axor tops this group at Rs. 7,910.
