KTM has updated the 200 Duke with a substantial feature addition and rider aids and the updated motorcycle has been seen at a dealership ahead of its official launch. Earlier this year, the 200 Duke received improvements like a larger front disc and lighter wheels, and now these feature additions should make it a better package.

  1. Gets a quickshifter, ride-by-wire, traction control and ride modes
  2. Likely to retain the 199.5cc engine that makes 25hp and 19.3Nm of torque
  3. Price is expected to increase from Rs 2.05 lakh

KTM 200 Duke: What’s New?

The addition of ride-by-wire introduces ride modes

One of the major changes is the addition of the bi-directional quickshifter, like its larger siblings the 390 and 250 Duke. The motorcycle now also features a ride-by-wire throttle, which introduced ride modes and traction control. Another update we can see is the updated switchgear – the left side switchgear is the same as before, but the right-side now gets a new unit, similar to the one on the 390 Duke.

Apart from the aforementioned, the motorcycle appears to be largely unchanged. It’s likely to  retain the 199.5cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine which produces 25hp at 10,000rpm and 19.3Nm at 8,000rpm, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Seemingly the suspension units also look like the same 43mm USD fork and a monoshock, from WP. Even though it now gets ride-by-wire, cruise control is not offered here.

The KTM 200 Duke is currently priced at Rs 2.05 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), sources suggest the updates are expected to bump the cost by roughly Rs 4,000. While the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 (1.60 lakh) stands as its main competitor on paper, the KTM delivers superior build quality and performance.
