Kawasaki has launched the Z300 in India at Rs. 3.24 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the venerable Ninja 300, the motorcycle is a naked streetfighter and becomes the most affordable entry point into Kawasaki’s Z range. Here are the top five highlights of the new motorcycle.
Aggressive design inspired by the Z900
The Kawasaki Z300 draws design inspiration from the larger motorcycles in the Z lineup, particularly the Z900. It features an aggressive design that is based on Kawasaki’s Sugomi design concept. This is evident in the large fuel tank extensions as well that give it a muscular profile. The motorcycle is available in two colour options: Candy Lime Green/Ebony and Metallic Carbon Gray/Ebony.
296cc Parallel-Twin Engine
Powering the Z300 is a 296cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine shared with the Ninja 300. It produces 39.4bhp at 11,000rpm and 26.3Nm of torque at 10,000rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycle also gets a slip-and-assist clutch
Conventional Suspension and Disc Brakes
The Z300 uses a 37mm telescopic front fork and a Uni-Trak monoshock at the rear. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends, with braking handled by a 290mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc. Dual-channel ABS is offered as standard. The motorcycle has a kerb weight of 175kg and 140mm of ground clearance.
LCD Instrument Console
The Kawasaki Z300 gets an LCD instrument console that displays the speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and clock. It also provides an odometer, two trip meters, a service indicator and a coolant temperature readout. However, the motorcycle does not get the more advanced electronic features offered by some of its rivals.
Priced at Rs. 3.24 Lakh
The Kawasaki Z300 is priced at Rs. 3.24 lakh (ex-showroom), making it more expensive than several rivals in the segment. For reference, it costs Rs. 38,664 more than the 2026 KTM 390 Duke.
