Mahindra’s first teaser confirms an October 15 reveal, showing a REVX-style front grille and panoramic sunroof
Mahindra is preparing to fill a gap in its passenger vehicle lineup with XUV3XO CNG. With no CNG option currently available in its SUV range, the upcoming model will give Mahindra a challenger to Tata Nexon i-CNG and Maruti Brezza S-CNG in the fiercely competitive sub-4-metre SUV segment. Its arrival during the festive season could also help attract buyers seeking lower running costs and build on XUV3XO’s growing sales.
XUV3XO, including its electric version, recorded 8,302 units in August 2026, up 50.37% year-on-year. However, it ranked seventh in the broader sub-compact SUV category, behind models such as Nexon, Brezza, Venue and Sonet. Adding CNG would widen its appeal and give Mahindra another opportunity to increase volumes.
First Teaser Shows REVX Front Design
Mahindra’s teaser shows a red XUV3XO with a body-coloured panel between its headlamps. Slim metallic inserts flank the central Twin Peaks emblem, giving it the distinctive front treatment associated with REVX variants.
The familiar headlamp housings and LED daytime running lights frame the grille, while black ORVMs provide contrast against the red bodywork. The panoramic sunroof also receives a dedicated frame, suggesting Mahindra will offer the upcoming version with more than just entry-level equipment. The teaser ends with “Revealing 15.10.26”, confirming the date for the announcement.

CNG Test Mule Spotted In The Hills
Spy shots credited to MRD VLOGS show a white XUV3XO carrying a CNG sticker on its rear windscreen. The vehicle is largely undisguised, with patterned camouflage limited to a small area around its rear registration plate.
Its connected rear light assembly, roof rails, spoiler, rear wiper and black bumper with silver-finished lower trim remain familiar. Whether Mahindra uses a single-cylinder or dual-cylinder arrangement, and how much luggage space remains, are still important unanswered questions.
XUV3XO CNG is expected to use Mahindra’s 1.2-litre turbocharged MPFI petrol engine, which produces around 110 bhp and 200 Nm in petrol form. CNG-mode output, transmission options and certified fuel efficiency are yet to be announced.
XUV3XO CNG Variants And Pricing
The expected XUV3XO CNG lineup comprises REVX M and AX5. For reference, XUV3XO REVX M petrol is currently listed at Rs 8.59 lakh, while REVX M(O) petrol spans Rs 9.09 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh. AX5 petrol versions range from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 11.88 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
A starting price below Rs 10 lakh would position the entry CNG variant above its petrol counterpart while keeping it accessible to buyers considering a factory-fitted CNG SUV. Across the wider XUV3XO lineup, petrol prices currently range from Rs 7.79 lakh to Rs 15.04 lakh, while diesel versions span Rs 9.36 lakh to Rs 14.07 lakh.
