Launched in September 2024, MG Windsor EV recently achieved the 80,000-sales milestone. To celebrate its successful run in India, MG will soon launch a new limited-edition ‘Indulge’ version of the Windsor EV. This new edition focuses on cosmetic enhancements and also gets some exciting exclusive features. Ahead of its launch, key details of the Windsor EV Indulge edition have leaked online.
MG Windsor EV Indulge special edition – Key highlights
A new gold-inspired exterior colour called ‘Shadow Gold’ has been used for the new Windsor EV Indulge edition. Another key update is 18-inch sporty alloy wheels in a blacked-out finish. One can also notice exclusive ‘Indulge’ badging on the rear quarter glass. This treatment could be there at the front and rear as well.
Apart from these updates, most other exterior features are the same as the standard model. Windsor EV has sharp lighting elements, a closed-off grille, large headlamp enclosures, and a modest bumper design with elegant black-finished inserts.
Side profile features circular wheel arches, smooth door panels, flush door handles, body side moulding and blacked-out pillars. At the rear, key features include wraparound tail lamps in connected format, a raked windshield and a clean bumper design.
New upholstery, tech upgrades
While Windsor EV Indulge edition retains the black and ivory interior theme of the standard model, the leatherette seats get a new Urban Tan and Black dual tone theme. Exclusive ‘Indulge’ badging is there on the front seat headrests. The biggest update is a new flip-down screen for rear passengers. This roof-mounted unit has been named the ‘Prive Screen’ by MG Motor. The carmaker has also added some useful accessories such as neck cushions for front passengers and pillows for rear users.
Features, performance
Apart from these updates, most other features of MG Windsor EV Indulge edition will be largely the same as the standard model. Key highlights include an infinity view glass roof, a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument console and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. More than 80 connected features are available with the EV.
Also included are features like a 9-speaker audio system by Infinity, 256 colour ambient lighting, PM2.5 filter, ventilated front row seats and powered tailgate. EV-specific features include Vehicle to Load (V2L) and Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) charging. Safety kit includes 6 airbags as standard, electronic stability program, a 360° camera setup and autonomous Level-2 ADAS.
Windsor EV Indulge special edition will use the same powertrain options as offered with the standard variants. Two battery packs are available, a 38 kWh and a 52.9 kWh unit. Certified range is 332 km and 449 km, respectively. All variants of Windsor EV use a single front axle mounted electric motor, generating 136 hp and 200 Nm. With the updates and new features, Windsor EV Indulge special edition could be priced slightly higher. Launch is expected soon.
