New Aprilia SXR GT Bookings Open
After updating the SR sporty scooter lineup with new hp-e family of engines, Aprilia has shifted their gaze on their maxi-scooter lineup. Called SXR GT, these maxi scooters get revised aesthetics with bold graphics and assertive liveries for both SXR GT 175 and SXR GT 125, which are never seen before, as per Aprilia.
Overall design and silhouette of Aprilia SXR GT is similar to its predecessor (SXR). Attributes like tri-pod LED headlights, tall windshield, maxi scooter fairing and overall Italian design language has been carried forward. However, Aprilia SXR GT has much more road presence now as it rides on 14-inch wheels.
It has to be noted that SXR 125 and SXR 160 used to be offered with 12-inch wheels, which have been upsized in the SXR GT 125 and SXR GT 175. Larger wheels offer more comfort and rough road ability as they can tower over road imperfections a lot better.
New TFT Screen
The range-topping Aprilia SXR 175 hp-e will come equipped with a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster. This cluster could be similar to SR 175, Aprilia’s RS 457 and Tuono 457. This cluster will suppose a host of connected features with the smartphone app including turn-by-turn navigation. SXR GY 125 gets a 5-inch LCD cluster.
Aprilia SXR GT 175 hp-e gets the 174.7cc single-cylinder air cooled engine with 3V head making 13.08 bhp and 14.14 Nm. SXR GT 125 hp-e gets the 124.45cc air-cooled engine with 3V head making 10.46 bhp and 10.4 Nm. Both get RSU front forks and 140 mm rear drum and 220 mm front disc brakes, but only SXR GT 175 gets single-channel ABS.
Launch is yet to happen and prices are yet to be announced. There are three colours with SXR GT 175 – Metallic Blue, Matte Black, Matte Green and SXR GT 125 comes in Matte Black, Glossy Azzurro and Glossy White.
