Toyota sold 30,360 vehicles, including exports, in October 2026. January–October sales remained up 3.03% despite the monthly year-on-year decline.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor reported total sales of 30,360 units in October 2026, comprising 29,521 units in the domestic market and 839 units in exports. Combined volumes declined 29.22% year-on-year from 42,892 units in October 2025. However, sales improved 7.59% month-on-month compared to 28,218 units in September 2026.
Domestic sales recovered strongly over September, helping offset a sharp reduction in export shipments. Toyota also highlighted encouraging customer interest during the festive season and a positive response to the recently launched new Glanza. For the 2nd consecutive month Toyota has now slipped behind Kia in sales and is not on the 6th spot. Interestingly, top 5 car makers posted all time high monthly sales in Oct 2026.
Domestic Sales At 29,521 Units
Toyota’s domestic sales stood at 29,521 units, down from 40,257 units in October 2025. This represents a decline of 26.67%, or 10,736 vehicles.
On a sequential basis, domestic volumes increased by 4,494 units over the 25,027 units recorded in September 2026, translating into 17.96% growth. The domestic market accounted for approximately 97.24% of Toyota’s total October sales, with exports contributing the remaining 2.76%.
Exports Fall To 839 Units
Exports stood at 839 units in October 2026, compared to 2,635 units in the corresponding month last year. Overseas shipments declined 68.16% year-on-year, a reduction of 1,796 units.
Compared to September 2026, when Toyota exported 3,191 vehicles, shipments fell by 2,352 units, or 73.71%. Consequently, while domestic sales added 4,494 units month-on-month, the export decline limited the increase in combined sales to 2,142 units.
January–October Sales Grow 3.03%
Despite October’s year-on-year decline, Toyota’s cumulative performance for the first ten months of 2026 remained positive. Total sales reached 3,25,274 units during January–October 2026, compared to 3,15,716 units in the same period last year. This translates into 3.03% growth, with an additional 9,558 vehicles sold across domestic and export markets.
Domestic sales increased to 2,99,140 units, up from 2,87,338 units in January–October 2025. Growth stood at 4.11%, representing an increase of 11,802 units. Cumulative exports, meanwhile, declined 7.91% to 26,134 units, compared to 28,378 units a year earlier. Domestic growth therefore supported the overall increase, offsetting the reduction of 2,244 units in overseas shipments.
New Glanza Receives Encouraging Response
Commenting on the performance, Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said festive-season customer interest remained encouraging across markets. He highlighted the company’s focus on its product portfolio, ownership experience and customer initiatives as market conditions evolve.
Toyota also reported an encouraging response to the recently launched new Glanza, citing its design, features and value proposition. The company did not disclose separate sales or booking figures for the hatchback. Launch of the updated Innova Hycross is expected later this month on the 26th, which could help boost sales in coming months.
