TVS recently launched the new Apache RTX in Italy with a price tag of EUR 4,890 (Rs. 5.43 Lakh) for the base variant and EUR 5,290 (Rs. 5.88 Lakh) for the higher-spec trim called the Adventurer. The former is available in two colours, including black and white the latter comes in a single green colour scheme.
The difference lies in the features and equipment available in both variants. The base variant of the motorcycle, which is called Essential, misses out on bits like adjustable suspension, quick shifter, TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system), brass-coated chain, and some connectivity features, all of which are available in the Adventurer variant of the bike. The Essential trim is still an attractive package as it gets a five-inch TFT screen, four riding modes, cruise control, and traction control.
Powering the European-spec Apache RTX is the same 299cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that does duty on the Indian version. It produces 35.5bhp and 28.5Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. Underpinned by a trellis frame, the motorcycle rides on a 19-17-inch alloy wheel combination with USD forks and a monoshock. Braking is handled by a single disc at both ends with dual-channel ABS. One can turn off ABS for the rear wheel. The kerb weight of the bike is on the lighter side at 180kg
In India, the TVS Apache RTX is available in three variants, including Base, Top, and Built to Order, which cost Rs 1.99 lakh, Rs 2.19 lakh, and Rs 2.39 lakh, respectively (all prices are ex-showroom).
