The Features

The biggest issue with normal backpacks is the weight they put on the rider’s shoulders. It gets tiring after some time and can also become irritating, which affects the whole riding experience. The Ruckus has a nice set of features that help take the load off the shoulders.

The DASH, or Dual Adjustable Sliding Harness, allows one to adjust the height of the straps, depending on the length of your torso. This level of customisability is important to set the bag up correctly.

A swivel-lock sternum closure system helps secure the harness in place and take the load off the shoulders. Lastly, an elastic strap between the harness and the base of the bag acts as a suspension system to reduce load transfer to the shoulders. I am quite curious to see how well these systems work to help reduce fatigue while carrying a lot of load. Considering my tendency to overpack, it’ll be a proper test of the bag.

Rounding off the features of the bag is a dedicated slot to store a hydration bladder, which is sold separately.
