- Z900-based adventure tourer unveiled
- Gets adaptive cruise control and blind spot detection
- India launch details yet to be announced
Kawasaki has revealed the all-new Versys 900, a middleweight adventure tourer positioned between the Versys 650 and Versys 1100. In the UK, the standard variant is priced at £10,899 (approximately Rs. 12.2 lakh), while the Versys 900 SE costs £11,799 (approximately Rs. 13.2 lakh). India launch details are yet to be announced.

The standard Versys 900 is available in black and white, while the SE gets red/grey and green/black colour schemes. The motorcycle is powered by a 948cc, inline-four, liquid-cooled engine derived from the Z900. It produces 120bhp at 9,500rpm and 97.3Nm of torque at 8,000rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox and a standard quickshifter.

The motorcycle gets multiple riding modes, adjustable power settings, traction control and cornering ABS. These systems are managed by an inertial measurement unit (IMU) through Kawasaki’s Cornering Management Function. There’s a five-inch colour TFT display with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Other features include radar-based adaptive cruise control with forward collision warning and rear blind-spot detection.
The Versys 900 uses a steel trellis frame. Suspension duties are handled by 43mm upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock with rebound and preload adjustment. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends, fitted with Metzeler Roadtec 01 tyres. Braking is handled by twin front discs with four-piston radial-mount callipers, supported by cornering ABS. It also gets a seven-position adjustable windscreen and a seat height adjustable between 825mm and 845mm.

Components that are exclusive to the SE variant include LED fog lamps, heated grips, hand guards, a radiator guard, a lower engine cowl, frame protectors and a centre stand. Both variants share the same engine, chassis, suspension, brakes, TFT display and radar-based safety features. Optional accessories include 32-litre panniers and a 47-litre top box.
