  • Technical specifications remain unchanged
  • S variant not available in India
  • Offers more relaxed seating ergonomics than the standard trim

The more comfortable and accessible S variant of the Z650 has received new colours for 2027 overseas. In typical Kawasaki fashion, the technical specifications of the bike remain unchanged for the updated model. Notably, Kawasaki does not sell the S trim of the Z650 and retails only the standard variant.

Among the three newly introduced colours of the Z650 S, the Pearl Blizzard White/Candy Lime Green shade is the boldest, with white bodywork along with a green chassis and front fender. Even the Candy Persimmon Red/Metallic Carbon Grey looks vibrant, with the Ebony/Metallic Carbon Grey paint scheme being the most understated and stealth-looking.

In comparison to the standard Z650, the S variant offers a more relaxed riding position, with Footpegs being repositioned for a relaxed knee angle and a new handlebar offering a more upright posture. The redesigned saddle provides extra comfort with a wider and thicker front seat and a recontoured pillion section that is 20mm broader and 10mm deeper in padding. For further personalisation, Kawasaki also offers two optional seats, Style seat for extra comfort and the Ergo-Fit seat that lowers the height by 20mm, improving reach for shorter riders.

The Z650 S runs on the same proven 649cc parallel-twin engine with its predictable power delivery and strong midrange performance. Last year, Kawasaki introduced a traction control system on the bike, which provides improved stability and safety in varying conditions. Moreover, the new 4.3-inch TFT colour display improves readability and connects via Bluetooth for smartphone pairing, allowing access to notifications and ride statistics through the Kawasaki Rideology app. For riders asking for sportier engagement, a bi-directional quickshifter is available as an optional accessory.
