- Second bike from BMW based on the 450 platform
- The design looks quite sporty and muscular
- Unveiling scheduled for 1 October
BMW has teased the upcoming 450-based streetfighter in India via its social media, likely to be called the F 450 R. This will be the second bike from the brand based on the 450 platform, and the teaser has given us a decent idea of what we can expect from this upcoming naked streetfighter.
The teaser shows that the upcoming bike will feature a sporty and aggressive design, with a muscular tank with sharp extensions. It also has a raised tail section that complements the design. Another interesting detail is what appears to be an underbelly exhaust, and this gives the motorcycle a clean look from the sides.
Powering the motorcycle will be the same 420cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor that produces 48bhp at 8,750rpm and 43Nm at 6,750rpm. The engine could be retuned for better road performance.
The bike also features reworked underpinnings. From the images, we can see what appears to be 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends, likely wrapped in road-biased tyres. There are disc brakes at both ends as well. Feature-wise, we can expect a TFT console similar to the F 450 GS, with an electronics suite that includes multiple riding modes, traction control, among others.
It will rival the Aprilia Tuono 457 in India, and other alternatives include the KTM 390 Duke R. The brand will unveil the motorcycle on 1 October 2026. In terms of pricing, we can expect it to be on the premium side, similar to the F 450 GS.
Recently, the brand raised the prices of the F 450 GS in India, with the ADV now being up to Rs. 30,000 more expensive than before.
