Continental has released the ContiMotion EVO as the successor to the long-running ContiMotion sport-touring motorcycle tyre. This new tyre concentrates on steering response, wet grip, stability and tyre life making it particularly relevant for riders who want one tyre to handle their commuting, highway travel and weekend riding needs all wrapped up in one package.

The new tyre comes with a revised carcass construction and a new silica-based hybrid compound. The updated material improves grip on wet roads without compromising mileage. Continental has also introduced its EasyHandling technology to the ContiMotion EVO. It makes the steering response more linear and predictable while entering tighter corners and when changing direction at lower speeds.

Tread pattern has been developed around wet-weather performance and longevity. Diagonal grooves extend towards the shoulders to move water away from the contact area and the centre of the tyre uses a relatively broad slick section. This central area will increase mileage by reducing unnecessary tread movement during normal upright riding.

ContiMotion EVO uses Continental’s ZeroDegree steel-belt construction designed to limit tyre deformation as speeds rise. This should be particularly relevant on the larger roadsters and middleweight sports motorcycles the tyre is designed to fit.

Continental lists models like the BMW R 12 nineT, Triumph Daytona 660, Ducati Supersport 950 and Honda CB650R amongst motorcycles suitable for this tyre. This spreads its use across modern classics, naked motorcycles and fully faired middleweights.

The first sizes started becoming available globally in September 2026 including a 120/70 ZR17 front, along with 160/60 ZR17 and 180/55 ZR17 rear tyres. A wider 190/50 ZR17 rear is scheduled to become available from November 2026. All four carry W-speed ratings.

India is where the ContiMotion EVO becomes particularly interesting. Several motorcycles in the tyre’s intended middleweight road-bike category are relevant to the Indian premium market. The 120/70 front with a 180/55 rear is already a familiar combination among performance road motorcycles.
