  • Harley-Davidson X440-based cruiser teased
  • Global unveiling could take place at EICMA 2026
  • India launch expected by early 2027

Harley-Davidson and Hero Motocorp are all set to debut a new motorcycle based on the same platform as the X440. Christened the Sprint 440, the name and a design sketch of the motorcycle were revealed earlier in May with the announcement of Harley’s ‘Back to Bricks’ business plan. Now, after a few months, the American cruiser maker has officially teased the arrival of the motorcycle on its social media handles.

One of the teaser images shows the side silhouette of the motorcycle and it clearly looks very different from the X440. It has a more traditional Harley stance with a long-slung, long-wheelbase look. The front comprises a circular headlamp with a single-pod console and a swept-back handlebar. The stance then swoops downward into a teardrop-shaped tank, a scooped seat, and a chunky fender which integrates a license plate holder and turn indicators.

While the main frame and engine look identical to the X440, the Sprint 440 will certainly come with a different sub-frame and wheels. The suspension hardware might also be tweaked to suit the Sprint’s geometry and persona. As for the engine, it will be the same 440cc, single-cylinder motor that powers the X440 and the X440T. This oil-cooled engine makes 27bhp and 38Nm of peak torque, and is paired with a six-speed gearbox. This engine is highly praised for its strong low-end and mid-range torque, and should suit the cruiser characteristics of the Sprint 440.

Interestingly, the Sprint 440 will be the first product based on this platform to be exported overseas. Manufacturing will be handled by Hero Motocorp in India. The global debut should take place at EICMA 2026 later this year, followed by its arrival at Indian dealerships by early 2027.
