Kia India Buyback programme covers eligible ICE, hybrid and electric models, with flexible ownership tenures and mileage plans
Kia India has expanded its Assured Buyback Programme across its ICE, hybrid and EV portfolio, offering eligible customers greater certainty about their vehicle’s future resale value. Announced on October 9, the programme provides an assured residual value of up to 75% for ICE models and up to 70% for EVs after three years, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
Kia Assured Buyback – Models And Eligibility
The programme covers models including Sonet, Syros, New Seltos, Carens, Carens Clavis and Sorento, across applicable petrol, diesel, CNG, hybrid and electric powertrain options. Availability depends on the relevant model and programme eligibility criteria.
Customers can enrol through participating authorised Kia dealerships when purchasing their vehicle. At the end of the selected tenure, they can avail the agreed buyback value in accordance with their programme agreement. The advertised figures are maximum assured values, so the percentage applicable to an individual purchase will depend on the selected plan and its conditions.
Flexible Tenures And Mileage Plans
For ICE models, buyers can choose ownership tenures of three, four or five years. EV customers can select a three-year or four-year plan. Annual mileage options are 10,000 km, 15,000 km or 20,000 km, allowing buyers to choose a plan suited to their expected usage. The maximum stated coverage of 1,00,000 km corresponds to a five-year plan with an annual allowance of 20,000 km.
Programme Administered By Independent Partner
The buyback programme is independently administered by the relevant programme partner, with Kia facilitating access through participating authorised dealers. Enrolment, eligibility, valuation and settlement are governed by the agreement between the customer and that partner.
Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said customers increasingly seek certainty around future value and upgrade convenience. He added that the expanded programme is intended to help eligible buyers understand their vehicle’s assured residual value from the outset.
Kia Posts Record September Sales
The announcement follows Kia India’s highest-ever monthly sales of 32,017 units in September 2026. This represented growth of 41.04% over the 22,700 units sold in September 2025, adding 9,317 units year-on-year. Sales also increased 10.24% over August’s 29,042 units.
The strong September performance helped Kia close the July–September quarter with 89,259 units, up 38.51% from 64,443 units in the corresponding quarter last year. For January–September 2026, cumulative sales reached 2,53,008 units, an increase of 22.47% over the 2,06,582 units recorded a year earlier. Against this backdrop, the expanded buyback programme adds another ownership benefit as Kia seeks to retain customers through their next exchange or upgrade.
