First teasers offer a closer look at Glanza facelift’s grille and bumper, with equipment and powertrain updates expected to follow Baleno facelift

Toyota has released the first teasers of Glanza facelift ahead of its October 14 launch. Following our earlier report on the launch timeline, these images provide the first official glimpses of its front-end styling. While the complete car remains under wraps, close-up shots reveal a prominent grille surround, black mesh detailing and contrasting bumper elements.

Toyota Glanza Facelift – First Look At Front Design

In the teaser we can see Toyota’s logo on the bonnet, positioned on a red body-coloured panel with a metallic-finish trim piece running beneath it. We also get to see sections of a black honeycomb-pattern grille bordered by a thick silver-finished surround.

This surround curves around the grille’s lower corners, while a red body-coloured strip separates the grille area from darker lower bumper trim. A separate lamp housing is also partially visible beside the grille. Toyota has kept the teaser tightly cropped, leaving the overall headlamp shape and complete grille proportions for a later reveal.

More Features Expected From Baleno Facelift

Beyond styling, Glanza facelift is expected to receive several additions introduced with Baleno’s latest update. These could include ventilated front seats, a wireless charging pad with active cooling and Clarion speakers.

Level 2 ADAS could be another major addition. Expected functions include automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, high-beam assist and adaptive cruise control. These would expand Glanza’s equipment list considerably, although Toyota has not detailed the feature package.

The cabin is expected to retain layout, with changes centred on equipment and convenience. Toyota-specific upholstery and trim choices could help distinguish it from new Baleno, much as the exterior styling does.

New 1.2L Three-Cylinder Petrol Expected

Under the bonnet, Glanza facelift is expected to adopt the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine already seen in Swift, Dzire and updated Baleno. This would replace the outgoing four-cylinder petrol unit, with improved fuel efficiency expected to be a key benefit.

Transmission choices are likely to remain a five-speed manual and a five-speed AMT. A factory-fitted CNG option is also expected to be on offer, catering to buyers prioritising lower running costs. CNG with AMT is also expected.

Glanza facelift will continue to compete with Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz and Maruti Suzuki Baleno. With the October 14 launch just days away, prices and the extent of its feature upgrades will soon establish how Toyota positions its updated premium hatchback.
