Ahead of its October 15 launch, new spy shots show Mahindra XUV3XO CNG’s underfloor twin-cylinder installation
Mahindra is preparing to launch XUV3XO CNG, expanding the fuel options available with its sub-4m SUV. Following the first official teaser, the upcoming model has now been spied inside out. The latest images reveal its twin-cylinder CNG setup, along with the fuel selector inside the cabin.
XUV3XO CNG Gets Twin Cylinders
The biggest highlight is the pair of CNG cylinders positioned beneath the boot floor. Both cylinders are mounted side by side and secured with metal straps, with valves and connecting pipes visible.
This arrangement follows a similar approach to Nexon i-CNG, allowing luggage to be placed above the cylinder compartment. It should offer better boot usability than a conventional single-cylinder installation occupying the main luggage area. Mahindra has yet to reveal cylinder capacity and the available boot space.
Inside, a dedicated CNG/PETROL button is positioned below the driver-side AC vent, beside the headlamp levelling control. The cabin retains the familiar light-coloured lower dashboard and gloss-black trim around the vent.
In terms of design, it is same. The CNG variant in the spy shot is seen with dual-tone alloy wheels, ORVMs with turn indicators along with the familiar headlamp and DRL arrangement.
Mahindra’s teaser confirmed the availability of a panoramic sunroof, suggesting buyers could get feature-rich CNG versions. The spy shots show a single pane sunroof. Mahindra offers single pane sunroof with REVX M(O) variant while the panoramic sunroof is offered with REVX Edge (O).
Expected Engine And Pricing
XUV3XO CNG is expected to use the 1.2-litre turbocharged MPFI petrol engine, which develops around 110 bhp and 200 Nm in petrol form. CNG-mode output, transmission options and certified mileage are awaited. In the spy shots we can see the manual CNG variant.
A starting price below Rs 10 lakh is expected. The CNG addition could help Mahindra reach more buyers looking for lower running costs. XUV3XO, including its electric version, registered 8,302 units in August 2026, up 50.37% year-on-year. With the arrival of CNG XUV3XO, sales are expected to get a boost this festive season.
