Mahindra Auto is set to up its SUV game in the country and is testing new and upcoming next gen vehicles. Also, the company is advancing into CNG territory. Recently, a fleet of Mahindra test mules were spied testing together. These included upcoming SUVs like XUV3XO CNG, Thar Roxx with DaVinci Dampers and Scorpio N facelift with Lifestyler elements.
The fleet also included Mahindra’s next gen vehicles based on Vision S and Vision T concept vehicles showcased in 2025. Some of these vehicles will launch in a couple of days (XUV3XO CNG), while some have just begun testing and will probably take a couple of years to launch (Thar EV based on Vision T).
XUV3XO CNG
After the discontinuation of KUV100 Trip, Mahindra has not really had a CNG offering in the PV segment. That will change soon and Mahindra will step into the ring with Tata, Maruti, Hyundai and Kia by launching a CNG version of XUV3XO. Launch will happen on 15th October and it is likely to be a factory-fitted CNG kit with their most affordable XUV.
Going by Mahindra’s latest teaser, there is a probability of XUV3XO being based on the popular REVX version which gets a unique aesthetic with a closed-off grille. The most probable engine to get CNG compliance is the lower-spec Turbo MPFI engine, which could boast segment’s highest power and torque when run on CNG.
Vision S Based Sub 4m Scorpio Sport
While Mahindra has not confirmed it, it is speculated that the ‘S’ in Vision S suggests a future sub 4m Scorpio, which could be called Scorpio Sport. When launched, this upcoming sub 4m SUV is likely to be a segment disruptor bearing the Scorpio name and packing features and technology along with sheer road presence and desirability.
Test mule sightings have gotten more frequent and the production version of Mahindra Vision S is expected to launch in 2027. Rear independent suspension, striking LED signature, large wheels, tall-boy design with excellent interior space, all-new dashboard, multi-energy approach with Petrol, Diesel, EV and Flex Fuel options are likely.
Thar ROXX With DaVinci Dampers
Mahindra recently launched the Thar OG with more sophisticated DaVinci dampers which we first experienced in XUV7XO. The company is working on introducing the same tech for Thar ROXX as well. Testing of Thar ROXX is going on and these test mules are speculated to be testing DaVinci dampers. Launch is likely soon.
Scorpio N Facelift
In August 2026, Mahindra updated the Scorpio N slightly to offer slightly improved features. Interiors saw a larger infotainment screen, TFT instrument cluster, 65W Type-C ports, panoramic sunroof and more. However, it was not a facelift. Mahindra is working on Scorpio N facelift, with design inspirations from Lifestyler pickup. The same portrait-style infotainment screen is expected to make its way into Scorpio N facelift too.
Vision T Based Thar EV
At the Freedom_NU event in 2025, Mahindra showcased Vision T and the speculation was that it will spawn an electric version of Thar ROXX. Testing has just commenced and the production spec version looks like it will lean heavily towards the ethos of Vision T. It will come in a 5-Door avatar and is expected to be fully electric. Considering testing started recently, launch might be further down Mahindra’s roadmap.
