The cat is out of the bag and we know Toyota is working on a facelift for Innova Hycross for the Indian market. There have been many test mule sightings in the recent past showing revised aesthetics. The launch is set to happen on November 26th and it will get some new features on the inside too.
However, an entirely different cat is now out of the bag in Indonesia where Toyota has upgraded the Innova Hycross (called Kijang Innova Zenix there) with new features and equipment. A similar facelift as India-spec model is expected in Indonesia too and the updated model over there gives us a window as to what we can expect from India-spec Innova Hycross Facelift.
Updated Innova Hycross Launched In Indonesia
PT Toyota-Astra Motor has just launched an updated version of their Kijang Innova Zenix. These features start from V Hybrid Type trim whose prices start from IDR 517 million (approx Rs 27.05 lakh), but the Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid Type range starts from G Hybrid Type trim which is priced at IDR 475 million (approx Rs 24.87 lakh) (both prices OTR, Jakarta).
There is a Modellista version based on V Hybrid Type trim and it gets additional accessories kit to spruce up the design. Coming to the interior updates with Kijang Innova Zenix (Innova Hycross in India), we can see an all-new 12.3-inch infotainment screen and then a 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster with Hybrid versions.
With non-Hybrid V and G trims, Toyota is offering a new 7-inch TFT instrument cluster. The 12.3-inch infotainment screen protrudes outwards quite a bit and does not fit into the aesthetics of original dashboard layout. This screen also supports in-car WiFi for all occupants. For Indonesia, a 360-degree camera has also been added.
Other notable updates include electrically adjustable driver’s seat, a dual-channel dashcam with DVR function, power folding ORVMs, updated telematics and more, depending on the trims. Features removed are rear seat entertainment and a wireless charger. On the outside, Modellista trim gets fancy front splitters, side body claddings along with sturdy-looking side steps for added jazz and functionality.
Same for India-spec Hycross Facelift?
These feature additions to Kijang Innova Zenix in Indonesia are a window to what we can expect in India-spec Innova Hycross facelift. The 12.3-inch infotainment screen and 12.3-inch instrument cluster along with in-car Wi-Fi, dashcam and other attributes are likely to be offered with India-spec Hycross facelift too.
Mechanically and electrically, this modern Innova is the same as before. It is still powered by a 2.0L 4-cyl NA Petrol engine and then a self-charging Hybrid system based on the same engine. The battery is now Nickel based Li-Ion unit. These powertrain options are likely to stay the same with the facelift too, except for Flex Fuel capability. Launch will happen on November 26th and finer details will be out then.
