Kawasaki has unveiled the 2027 KLX300SM ABS in the US, updating its lightweight supermoto motorcycle for the new model year. The motorcycle retains the same supermoto-focused hardware and design as the older model, with the only updates being the inclusion of ABS as standard and a slight bump in power and torque output.

Powering the motorcycle is a 292cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with a DOHC setup and fuel injection. It produces 26.8bhp at 8,000rpm and 24.9Nm of torque at 6,800rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The engine specifications remain largely unchanged from the previous model, although the listed power and torque figures are higher than those of the 2026 non-ABS version.

The KLX300SM uses a tubular semi-double-cradle frame, suspended by a 43mm inverted front fork with adjustable compression damping and a rear Uni-Trak gas-charged shock with adjustable rebound damping and spring preload. Braking is handled by a 300mm front petal disc and a 240mm rear disc, with ABS now listed as standard equipment.

The motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels with road-focused tyres, while its 860mm seat height and 139kg kerb weight align with its supermoto persona. It also gets an LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity through Kawasaki’s Rideology mobile application.

In the US, the 2027 KLX300SM is priced at USD 6,399 (approximately Rs. 5.7 lakh), excluding destination charges, taxes and other fees. It is available in two colour options: Neon Green/Ebony and Battle Gray/Ebony. Kawasaki will not launch this motorcycle in India, at least not in the near future.
