  • Third motorcycle based on the BMW 450 platform
  • Available in four variants
  • Easy-ride clutch available in the top-spec variant

BMW Motorrad has just unveiled the F 450 RR internationally, and this is the third motorcycle based on the BMW 450 platform. It features an aggressive sportsbike design, with a vertically stacked LED headlight setup and fairing-mounted winglets. The headlight setup makes it stand out compared to the S1000RR, from which we expected the motorcycle to take some design inspiration.

Like the recently unveiled BMW F 450 R, the RR is also powered by the same 420cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine with a 135-degree crank that produces 48bhp at 8,750rpm and 43Nm at 6,750rpm, and is paired with a six-speed gearbox. On the top-end variant, the brand is offering the Easy-Ride-Clutch (ERC) as part of the Innovation Package.

It is suspended on a 43mm KYB inverted fork and a KYB monoshock. The motorcycle rolls on 17-inch alloys at both ends, with a 310 mm front and 240mm rear disc brake setup with dual-channel ABS. Like on the BMW F 450 R, the German bikemaker is also offering the Sport Suspension package. This brings compression and rebound damping adjustment at the front and adjustable preload and rebound at the rear.

The F 450 RR also gets the same 6.5-inch TFT console as the F 450 R, with smartphone connectivity and related features. Additionally, the motorcycle also gets a lot of electronic riding aids. This includes three riding modes: Rain, Road, and Race. Additionally, there is a traction control system, engine drag torque control, and dynamic brake control, along with ABS Pro.

The feature set also varies depending on the variant, and here’s a brief breakdown:
