Honda QC3 has been launched in India at Rs. 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) as the latest addition to Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India’s electric two-wheeler range. Bookings are now open for Rs. 5,000, although Honda is starting sales on a relatively small scale. The QC3 will initially be offered through select RedWing dealerships in Delhi, Agra, Cuttack, Surat and Kollam.

QC3 uses a 3.0kWh battery and has a certified IDC range of 145km. Honda says the battery can be charged from zero to 80 percent in two hours and 40 minutes. A complete charge takes approximately four hours.

The QC1 uses a 1.5kWh fixed battery and takes four hours and 30 minutes to reach 80 percent, with a full charge requiring six hours and 50 minutes. The QC3 therefore offers considerably more claimed range while also spending less time connected to the charger.

That should make the QC3 more practical for households using one scooter for several duties during the day. A morning commute, school run, shopping trip and evening errand can quickly add kilometres, and a larger usable range reduces the need to constantly think about plugging in.

QC3 gets 32 litres of under-seat storage. Its dashboard is a five-inch TFT unit and comes with Honda RoadSync connectivity. Turn-by-turn navigation is integrated as well. A Smart Key is standard too.

Honda will offer the QC3 in four colours, Matt Photon Gray Metallic, Pearl Precious White, Pearl Shallow Blue and Pearl Siren Blue.
