BMW’s next iteration of its flagship S 1000 RR supersport was spotted testing at the Nürburgring Nordschleife earlier in the year. We now have clearer images of what the production-ready S 1000 RR might look like.

Keen enthusiasts will remember the asymmetrical faces of the first- and second-generation S 1000; BMW loved asymmetrical designs back then! The design has evolved a lot since then becoming more angular, sharper, angrier. This new S 1000 RR seems to take further strides in that direction with a fully reworked front fascia that incorporates a large intake between the dual headlights and more complex frontal aero.

The new S 1000 RR is also expected to get a revised frame. How far BMW will stray from the existing aluminium twin-spar remains to be seen. Seat and seating position have changed hinting at changes to the underlying subframe. The rear swingarm is expected to be different too; the aluminium swingarm spotted on the upcoming S 1000 RR is more enclosed in nature.

The overall design looks more purposeful with the additional aero, as well as revised fairings making the bike look more capable. Exhaust design changes too with a shorter muffler. However, the collector, link pipes and underbelly catalytic converter look similar to the current S 1000 RR. While emissions regulations are getting stricter by the minute, the S 1000 RR is expected to make more power out of its 999cc inline-four engine in its eventual Euro 7 guise.

The Brembo Hypure front brake calipers, which we theorised could’ve been on the bike being tested at the Nürburgring, seem to be true as the recent test mule appears to be sporting Brembo’s top-of-the-line braking hardware. Ducati’s Panigale V4 and V4 S, as well as Aprilia’s RSV4 1100 Factory, all come fitted with the Hypure units.

BMW is expected to unveil the S 1000 RR, as well as the manic M 1000 RR, at the EICMA two-wheeler exhibition held in November, with an official global launch in early 2027. An official India launch can be expected to follow in the later few months.
