The Bayon, Hyundai’s latest nameplate in India, is its second challenger in the heavily contested midsize SUV space and sits right between the Venue and Creta. If you’re considering the 2026 Hyundai Bayon, here are the details on its trims, available powertrains, colour options and variant-wise features, along with our recommendation on the variant to go for.
2026 Hyundai Bayon price and powertrains
Hyundai has priced the Bayon from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 18 lakh. The most affordable CVT automatic version is priced at Rs 13.85 lakh. The Bayon lineup is offered in 11 variants across 7 trims, including HX2, HX3, HX3+, HX5, HX6, HX8 and HX10. Buyers can opt for a CVT gearbox from the mid-level HX5 trim onward.
Powering the Hyundai Bayon is a single 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that also does duty in the Creta. The mill produces 115hp and 144Nm, and power is sent to the front wheels by either a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. The latter option exclusively gets Sport, Eco, and Normal drive modes and a ‘Dash Boost’ mode. CVT versions get a claimed mileage of 18.6kpl. A CNG-powered version of the Bayon will launch in January 2027. It is expected to utilise a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine and an underbody-mounted tank.
2026 Hyundai Bayon exterior and interior colours
There are ten colour choices for the Bayon, including six monotone and two dual-tone and matte-finish options. Monotone colour options include Titanium Black, Classy Blue, Atlas White, Fiery Red, Golden Bronze and Ecotronic Grey. Dual-tone schemes with a black roof are offered in Atlas White and Fiery Red, while Titanium Black and Classy Blue are available with a matte finish. Inside, the Bayon features a dual-tone black-and-grey theme. Opt for a dual-tone exterior paint job, and you get an all-black interior with red inserts.

Which variant of the Hyundai Bayon should you buy?
For most buyers, the higher-end HX8 trim is the one we’d recommend. For its price, it packs in several feel-good features, including ventilated front seats, a powered driver seat, reclining rear seats, front and side parking sensors, and rear disc brakes, among other conveniences. Though the top HX10 trim packs in all the bells and whistles, the premium it commands over the HX8 trim below it isn’t justified. Buyers on a strict budget can consider the mid-level HX6 trim as it strikes a good balance between price and features on offer. Additionally, we recommend going with the CVT gearbox as it offers a smooth and refined driving experience in the city,
